Jefferson Township, PA – A fatal two-vehicle accident on Route 356 has claimed the life of 96-year-old Lillian Bachman of Butler. The collision occurred just before 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Burtner Road and Route 356.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police, the crash was caused when 92-year-old Owen Stepp of Sarver attempted to pull onto Route 356 from Burtner Road. In doing so, he inadvertently moved into the path of an oncoming vehicle driven by 50-year-old Thomas Paserba of Aspinwall.
Despite Paserba’s attempt to swerve and avoid the collision, impact was unavoidable.
