Born on March 30, 1933, in Niagara Falls, Ontario, to Francesco and Elisabetta Parisi, Tony’s athletic journey began at a young age. He showcased his exceptional skills as a goaltender for the Niagara Falls Junior “B” Hockey team from 1947 to 1949, before advancing to the Major Junior Ontario Hockey Association to play Junior “A” hockey for Galt. Tony’s talent took him overseas, where he played over 870 professional hockey games in Europe. His career also saw a brief stint with the Pittsburgh Hornets in the American Hockey League in 1962. After retiring from professional hockey in 1965, Tony transitioned to a long and distinguished career in football.

Tony is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Joan Parisi; his daughters, Paula Parisi Cordeiro (Carlos) and Elizabeth Parisi (Kevin Carney); his brothers, Dominic Parisi (Sonya), John Parisi (Virginia), and Frank Parisi (Diane); and his brother-in-law, Albert Moccio, and sister-in-law, Jasmine Parisi. He was also a proud and loving grandfather to Antonio and Christian Cordeiro and cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Carmel Moccio, his brothers Vito Parisi and Joseph Parisi (Mary), and his nephew Anthony Moccio.
Memorial Services
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at William Slater II Funeral Service, 1650 Greentree Road, Scott Township. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Bernard Church, St. Michael the Archangel Parish, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
