It is with profound sadness that we reflect on the life of Patrick Michael Beard, affectionately known as “Cadillac” or “Patch” to those fortunate enough to know and love him. Patrick passed away on June 10, 2025, in Daytona Beach, Florida, at the young age of 32. His sudden and tragic passing has left a deep void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were touched by his infectious energy, generous spirit, and zest for life.
A Life Lived Fearlessly
Born in Kingsland, Georgia, Patrick was the embodiment of a free spirit. From a young age, he was drawn to the great outdoors, and adventure became the guiding force of his life. Whether he was carving paths down icy slopes, riding his motorcycle along open roads, or scaling trees with unmatched agility, Patrick embraced every moment with fearless passion. His connection to nature was deep and spiritual—he found solace in fishing, boating, surfing, and exploring, always in tune with the elements that gave him joy.
A Heart Full of Love
Patrick’s love for life extended far beyond his love of adventure. At the center of his world was his beloved wife, Elizabeth Gonest, his life partner and soulmate. Their relationship, built on unwavering trust, deep affection, and shared wonder, was a shining example of true love. Together, they created a life full of unforgettable memories, laughter, and mutual support.
He also shared a unique and inseparable bond with his cherished dog, Dose, his “fur-child” and constant companion. Patrick’s heart was wide open—not only to those he loved but to everyone who crossed his path. His capacity for connection was limitless.
Devoted Son, Brother, and Family Man
Patrick’s love for his family ran deep. He was a devoted son to Teresa “Lynn” Parker and Michael Shaw, and he shared a special relationship with his bonus mom, Laura Gonest. The unwavering support and guidance of his family shaped the fearless, loving man he became.
He was the proud grandson of Petricia A. Johnson and Kathy Beard, and was deeply influenced by their warmth and wisdom. Patrick shared a close bond with his brothers, Ryan Gerades (Michelle Evans), Joshua Gerades, and Jeffrey Beard, as well as his bonus sisters, Palyn and Grace Gonest.
His extended family—beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends who felt like family—formed an incredible network of love around him. Among them were Sheril A. Beard-Bureau (Sam), James Michael Beard (Nikki), Richard Lee Beard (Ashley), Patty J. Height (Bryan), and Thomas A. Mossier Jr. (Jennifer). Through these cherished relationships, Patrick’s life was filled with laughter, stories, and unwavering support.
A Legacy of Light and Love
Though his time on Earth was far too short, Patrick’s legacy is vast. He was preceded in death by many beloved family members, including his bonus father Curtis D. Parker, his grandparents Perry and Elsey Johnson, great-grandparents James Harley and Helen Beard, grandfather Gary M. Beard, and others including Beverly Parker, James Johnson (Felice), and Dennis Beard. He now reunites with them in eternal peace.
Patrick’s spirit was one of joy, adventure, and kindness. His laughter could light up a room, and his presence brought warmth to everyone around him. He lived his life boldly and with purpose, and he taught those around him to cherish every moment, to love deeply, and to always seek adventure.
As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the beautiful, meaningful life he led. Patrick Michael Beard was more than a son, husband, brother, or friend—he was a force of nature, a beacon of joy, and a reminder of the importance of living life to its fullest.
May his memory be a blessing, and may all who knew him find comfort in the love he gave so freely and the legacy he leaves behind.
Rest in peace, Patrick. Your spirit lives on in every sunrise, every wave, every wild and beautiful place.
