A Bright Light From the Start

Born on November 15, 1989, Pete was a source of joy and warmth from his earliest days. Growing up in Zion, Illinois, he built strong roots and formed lasting connections throughout the community. A proud graduate of Zion-Benton Township High School, Pete was known for his sharp intelligence, quick wit, and generous heart.

He later pursued a career in skilled trades, where he earned respect and admiration from both colleagues and customers for his unwavering work ethic and exceptional craftsmanship.

A Heart Full of Joy and Kindness

Pete was cherished not only for his talents and drive but for his incredible ability to bring happiness to those around him. His contagious laugh, love of storytelling, and gift for knowing exactly when someone needed support made him a rare and beautiful soul.

He was a steadfast rock for his family, a loyal friend, and a fierce protector of those he loved. Pete’s loyalty knew no bounds — he always put others before himself, embodying selflessness in every aspect of his life.

A Devoted Family Man

Above all, Pete was a family man. He was a devoted son, a caring brother, a proud uncle, and a loving companion. Family was the center of his world, and he treasured every moment spent at family gatherings, birthdays, holidays, or quiet evenings at home.

His unwavering love and loyalty will forever be remembered by those he held dear.

Those Who Carry on His Legacy

Pete is survived by his beloved parents, James “Jim” Pantel Jr. and Mary Pantel; his sisters, Rachel (Chris) Moran and Emily Pantel; and his cherished niece and nephews, Jackson, Elli, and Ava, who adored him beyond measure. He is also survived by his loving companion, Sara Torres; his aunts, uncles, cousins; and his extended family of countless friends who became like family.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, whom he held close to his heart, as well as several dear friends whose memories he carried with him every day.

A Life Lived With Passion and Purpose

Pete lived life to the fullest, embracing every moment with passion and purpose. He loved the outdoors — whether fishing, camping, or hiking, he found peace near the water and strength in the simplicity of nature.

A die-hard Chicago Bears fan, Pete never missed a game, no matter how tough the season. He had a wide-ranging taste in music and loved cooking for his family and friends, especially Sunday dinners filled with warmth and laughter.

Honoring Pete’s Memory

Pete’s absence leaves a silence that echoes deeply, yet his spirit lives on — in the laughter of his niece and nephews, in golden sunsets, and in the hearts of everyone blessed to have known him.

A celebration of Pete’s life will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church, with a memorial service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Friends and family are encouraged to share stories and wear Chicago Bears attire in his honor.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to local mental health awareness initiatives — causes close to Pete’s heart.

Conclusion: A Legacy of Love and Loyalty

Though we say goodbye for now, Pete’s love, loyalty, and laughter will continue to inspire all of us. Rest peacefully, dear Pete. Your memory is a blessing, and your love will guide us forever.
