A Bright Spirit from the Start
Born on January 23, 1999, in Cedar Rapids to Larry and Becky (Kula) Schrader, Cassie was a vibrant presence from the very beginning. With a love for dance and cheerleading, she spent much of her youth in motion—expressing her passion for life through every routine and cheer. She graduated from Benton Community High School in 2017 and was known for her kind heart and dedication to those around her.
Cassie worked in her community at Hy-Vee and Casey’s, where her warm smile and caring nature made her a favorite among customers and coworkers alike.
A Loving Mother Above All
Cassie’s most treasured role was being a mother to her beautiful daughter, Sophia Idaleigh Schrader. Sophia was the light of her life and her greatest joy. Cassie embraced motherhood with open arms, showering her daughter with love, care, and support. Every decision she made reflected her deep commitment to providing Sophia with a happy and meaningful life.
A Passionate Soul With a Love for Animals
Cassie was also a passionate animal lover with dreams of one day becoming a veterinarian. Her compassion for animals ran deep, and she was known for caring for pets and advocating for their well-being. She found joy in the simple things—the color purple, her favorite, and a special fondness for elephants, which she admired for their strength and gentle spirit.

Cassie leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold her memory close:

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Beverly Schrader, Bob Gulbro, Mary Bailey, and her uncle, Daniel Schrader—all of whom now welcome her with open arms.
Honoring Her Life and Legacy
A visitation will be held for family and friends on Friday, from 3 to 7 p.m., at Teahen Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids. A private family burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date.
In this time of sorrow, the family encourages loved ones to gather, share stories, and celebrate the beautiful, compassionate person Cassie was. Her warmth, humor, and deep love for others will be remembered always.
