Born on June 12, 1966, in Tell City, Indiana, Brenda was the daughter of the late Robert and Margaret (Jones) Reid. For over two decades, she dedicated herself to serving nutritious meals to students, fostering a warm and welcoming environment in the school cafeteria. Her kindness and genuine care for the children made her a beloved figure among both students and staff.
Commitment to Community and Faith
Beyond her role at the school, Brenda was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, where she volunteered for various programs and events. She also contributed her time to the local food pantry, working tirelessly to support those in need. Her unwavering commitment to service touched countless lives and strengthened the community she loved so dearly.
A Loving Family Woman
Brenda’s passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of her family and friends. She is survived by her devoted husband of 35 years, Michael Henson; their children, Sarah (David) Mitchell of Evansville, Indiana, and Brian (Emily) Henson of Louisville, Kentucky; and three cherished grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Linda (Mark) Thompson of Tell City, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Arrangements and Memorial Contributions
A visitation will be held on March 25, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Huber Funeral Home in Tell City. A funeral service will take place on March 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church, officiated by Pastor James Smith. Following the service, Brenda will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the William Tell Elementary School cafeteria fund or the local food pantry, honoring Brenda’s passion for nurturing and helping others.
