Bakersfield Woman Identified in Fatal Wible Road Shooting

The Kern County community is mourning the loss of Jessica Arevalos, who was tragically shot and killed late Saturday night in the parking lot of Blue Clouds Market on Wible Road, just south of Belle Terrace.

According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of gunfire around 11:00 p.m. on April 5, 2025. When they arrived, they discovered Jessica with fatal gunshot wounds. Despite emergency response efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The shooting prompted authorities to shut down parts of the parking lot and Wible Road overnight while investigators processed the area. Traffic resumed in the early morning hours of Sunday, but the emotional impact of the event lingers throughout the community.
