The Kern County community is mourning the loss of Jessica Arevalos, who was tragically shot and killed late Saturday night in the parking lot of Blue Clouds Market on Wible Road, just south of Belle Terrace.
According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of gunfire around 11:00 p.m. on April 5, 2025. When they arrived, they discovered Jessica with fatal gunshot wounds. Despite emergency response efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The shooting prompted authorities to shut down parts of the parking lot and Wible Road overnight while investigators processed the area. Traffic resumed in the early morning hours of Sunday, but the emotional impact of the event lingers throughout the community.
Authorities have yet to release any information regarding suspects or motives. As of now, no arrests have been made, and no additional victims have been reported. Investigators continue to pursue leads, and the Sheriff’s Office is urging the public to come forward with any relevant information.
