Born on April 29, 1970, in Coshocton, he was the son of the late Gary Wright and Marian Middaugh. His unexpected death has created an irreplaceable void, especially for his loved ones still processing this heartbreaking loss.

A proud 1988 graduate of Coshocton High School, Steven carried a strong work ethic throughout his life. He worked at Kraft Heinz in Coshocton, where he was admired for his reliability, dedication, and friendly demeanor.

Steven enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, from keeping a perfectly maintained yard to cheering on his favorite teams — the Miami Dolphins and Ohio State Buckeyes — and finding peace in nature.

He especially loved visiting the Tennessee mountains, where he often marveled at brown and black bears in their natural habitat, admiring their strength and beauty.

Above all, Steven was a devoted father, grandfather, and partner. His family was his world, and he took great joy in their achievements and presence.

He is survived by his children: Janis “Gabby” (JJ) Tarman, Ashley (Garrat) Rogers, and Skyler Wright, all of Coshocton; and his grandchildren: Jenson, Zarina, Azlynn, Holden, and Raylynn.

Steven also leaves behind his siblings: Bill (Brenda) Wright of Raleigh, NC; Duane (Kathy) Wright of Newcomerstown; and Missy Wright of Coshocton.

Steven shared many loving years with his long-time partner, Melani Dickerson of Warsaw. Together, they built a close-knit family, extending love to Melani’s children and grandchildren: Tyler (Sierra) Dickerson, Kyle (Brandon) Anderson, and grandchildren Hensley, Copeland, and Emmie.

Visitation will be held at Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main Street, Coshocton, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, followed by the funeral service at 5:00 p.m., officiated by Major Vicki Clarke.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made directly to the family to help cover funeral expenses. Donations can be made through the funeral home website or in person at the service.
